7:30pm - 8:00pm - The way forward – Inverter Technology leading the trend of energy saving
The presentation shall cover how the interest of the developers and end user is best secured by following the best in class design practices for direct expansion units using the inverter technology in both the split systems and VRF systems (Variable Refrigerant Flow). Consultants and HVAC industry experts, shall have a good understanding of the equipment specifications and selections which comply with the new regulations for the reliable performance in high ambient Middle East conditions.

8:15pm - 8:45pm - Entering a new era with digital technologies in HVACR
Specifying digital technologies for building HVACR systems – what to pay attention to
Digital powertrain concept bringing together drive, motor and HVACR equipment like fan or pump
Optimizing performance and minimizing time and money spent on maintenance through cloud or edge server based condition monitoring
When this region planned to transition from HCFC R22 refrigerant under the Montreal Protocol, the commercial refrigeration industry leapt onto HFC R-404A, as it was the available solution then to comply with Montreal Protocol. However, due to its poor energy performance, R404A has led to increasing the energy bills of supermarkets and cold stores. Add to that R404A has a very high global warming potential (AR4 100 year GWP = 3922) HFC refrigerant. These HFC refrigerants are planned to be phased out under Kigali Agreement, to which this region is a signatory. To respond to the challenges to reduce the energy consumption in commercial refrigeration, and to prepare for the phase out of HFC refrigerants under Kigali Agreement, the Commercial Refrigeration industry needs to transition to new Solstice(R) range of HFO refrigerants. The main objective of this presentation is to inform manufacturers, refrigeration consultants, contractors, supermarket and cold store owners about how transitioning to the new available refrigerant technology for commercial refrigeration can help them reduce their energy bills while being ready for long tern sustainable refrigerants. These changes can be implemented for both, existing and new systems R-404A systems. Examples of applications will be presented, and the concept of eco-efficiency will be introduced and used as a basis to compare the financial and environmental impacts of the various refrigerants.
As this region is a signatory to KIGALI Agreement, the District Cooling industry needs to look for long term sustainable refrigerant solutions beyond currently used HFC refrigerants. The planned phase out of HFC refrigerants under Kigali warrants the industry to adopt new when designing new district cooling systems resulting in adoption of lower GWP refrigerants. Honeywell's new Solstice(R) HFO refrigerants are not only offer long term sustainable alternatives to HFC refrigerants but they are more energy efficient than them, helping in huge reduction in energy bills for the District cooling plant operator and end users. The presentation will educate the industry stake holders on the architecture and design considerations while bringing forward local case studies and their benefits
